Event Description:

This year, California continued its trend of making historic changes to state employment law, including more progressive steps unlike anything seen in other states around the country.  In contrast, federal agencies have dialed back their aggressive rulemaking and provided more practical guidance to employers.  Our update discusses many of these developments, These many changes relate to:

  • New independent contractor rules on both state and federal fronts;
  • Broad new harassment and employee training rules;
  • Immigration enforcement and state-law impacts;
  • National origin regulations;
  • Limits on employment settlements and settlement agreements;
  • New legal standards for harassment claims;
  • Lactation accommodation;
  • Salary history and applicant inquiries;
  • Meal and rest period developments;
  • Leaves of absence and family care;
  • And more …

Our annual seminar explores recent changes and what to expect as we move into the new year.  We'll cover new laws, new regulations, important new court cases, and strategies for compliance.

Bring your questions; as always, there will be time for discussion.
